McCain PULLS OUT of Michigan

From DailyKos:

John McCain is pulling out of Michigan, according to two Republicans, a stunning move a month away from Election Day that indicates the difficulty Republicans are having in finding blue states to put in play.

McCain will go off TV in Michigan, stop dropping mail there and send most of his staff to more competitive states.

This is the importance of Obama's 50 State Strategy. Barack Obama has tried to forge many paths to 270. If he had just stuck with the same Electoral College Map, that would have enabled McCain to concentrate on a certain number of states. Now that Obama is fighting all across the country, McCain has to stretch resources even thinner.

THIS is a big deal. That's why he dumped it on the day of the VP debate, to try and blunt the underlying message of what this means.

This is good news...

For a while... (4-6 weeks ago) Michigan seemed to be in play.... it appeared that McCain was pushing hard for Michigan and was within 2,3,4 points for a while in some polls. But Obama solidified his support in the last few weeks.

Kwame Kilpatrick... the Hip Hop thug Mayor, probably wasn't a help to Obama.
