I Thought Cindy Sheehan Retired

Sheehan...who, just a few months ago, proclaimed that she was leaving her protest movement against the war in Iraq, now re-enters the fray with a challenge to Nancy Pelosi. She wants Pelosi to impeach George Bush or face a challenge to her Congressional seat.

I have stated here before that any move to impeach Bush would be a waste of time, and would not go anywhere. It would not even make it to a vote in Congress. Congress could make much better use of its time in my opinion. Now Dick Cheney is another matter all together.

Does Sheehan really understand the dynamics of Congress....that such an effort would be a waste of time, or does she really believe in such an effort? OR does she simply want to make a point?

sheehan's on another groove.

but recent circumstances bring up a question. under what circumstances is impeachment not only AN option...but THE best option needed to right government?

i believe that the current administration is operating the way it is because it is convinced that impeachment is off of the table. not just because they have the numbers. impeachment isn't just about the numbers. it is about reaffirming a standard for how government is supposed to operate. i don't think this is a case in which we just wait for the other party to take over and "right" things. this is something else entirely.

Dr. Spence, I agree. it is about reaffirming a standard for how government is supposed to operate. I'm not sure the Democrats are providing any new ideas on how to turn our nation around. But, yeah, these guys need to go, even if it's a month before they leave office they still should impeached. I'm not sure Cindy has a lot of credibility as she had he (justifiable) anger get in her way, of building a movement.
