President Bush stated today that he was invoking executive priviledge to prevent Congress from questioning White House Aides or obtaining certain documents.
The House and Senate Judiciary Committees want to talk to former political aide Sara Taylor and former White House Counsel Harriet Miers regarding the firings of at least 8 U.S. Attorneys. Democrats believe that the firings were carried out based on partisan political considerations and in the process, the Bush administration, as well as members of Congress may have unlawfully interferred with U.S. Attorney investigations.
Congress must be barking up the right tree for Bush to pull this card now. It will be interesting to watch this play out.

I'm ready for the showdown. It's past time. It's time for them to have to PROVE this is 'Executive Privilege'.
That's not some blanket excuse to hide their hideousness.
