Barbaric Torture

Back in January 27, 2005, Bush, in an interview with the Times, assured the world that “torture is never acceptable, nor do we hand over people to countries that do torture.”

Well it looks like the Bush administration has allowed many of our soldiers to become (and/or continue) to be, uncivilized, brutal, cruel, and barbaric towards the people of Iraq.

WaPo reports many soldiers support torture, U.S. Troops Lacking in Ethics with many soldiers supporting torture and other forms of abuse against Iraqi civilians. An Army report also indicates our troops face higher rates of mental illness due to longer deployments.

I guess the United States under the Bush administration has no problem having our soldiers torture and kill non-combatants as a strategy in war. One has to wonder if the "mass killing" and "civilian victimizations" attributed to insurgents is American driven?

Your thoughts?

When I saw that new report about ethics in the battlefield... it made me sick.

It gives the world the impression that U.S. soldiers are just as brutal as the militants who are blowing up babies.

There doesn't seem to be enough being done to educate these troops about their battlefield responsibilities, and about other cultures.

This is part of why the U.S. is in this position in the first place. And their behavior is fueling the insurgency...

I am pretty sure that the order for the Abu Ghraib & Gitmo abuses came down from the top... right from the White House and Pentagon.

No doubt about it! My dad was in the Airforce so, I'm not hatig on the arn services. I respect them when they are right, but when they are wrong its wrong. AI, it appears the United States is as brutal as the militants. It has blown up probably just as many innocent babies. They just don't do it with human bombs they do it from the air with jets. Remember shock and awe? There are conservative estimates of how many innocent Iraqi's have been killed by Americans. It don't look good my brotha.
