Palestinians On Brink of Civil War?

Palestinian infighting is looking more like a civil conflict. Various factions can't seem to agree on much of anything. The main factions are Hamas, Fatah, Al Aqsa (militant variant of Fatah), and the various other militant groups...who seem to be interested in going in their own separate directions. It just shows how powerful Yasser Arafat was...keeping all of these factions together for 4 decades.

This sort of conflict will only make life harder on the civilians in Palestine. But they had to know this was the likely outcome of giving power to a militant group- Hamas. It's a little bit like Americans voting for George Bush- twice (or elections being arranged twice...but either way, a lot of Americans voted for the guy). Voters sometimes do strange things, in this case voting for their own pain.

Reports from the BBC, and the UK Herald.
