John McCain - A Wholly Owned Subsidary of the Religious Right

John McCain, Focus on the Family's James Dobson

If the Sarah Palin choice says anything about John McCain, outside of his utter contempt for the American people, it is that he has become a WHOLLY OWNED SUBSIDIARY OF THE RELIGIOUS RIGHT.

This choice means that he has become ' their boy' without hesitation.

If this were about choosing a Republican WOMAN, there were plenty other choices of GOP women.

But, this wasn't about that.

This was about selling out to the Religious Right, because Palin is THEIR GIRL.

John McCain does not have the money of Barack Obama.

Barack Obama has been out organizing McCain in every state that will be fought over in this election. It was announced only a couple of weeks ago that the McCain Campaign was BEGINNING to form a ground game. But, ground games take money. Money McCain doesn't have.

The ground game for the GOP, in the last 2 election cycles, has been done through The Religious Right. He had no way of getting them to come out and work for him.

UNLESS HE CHOSE ONE OF THEIR FOOT SOLDIERS.

In choosing Palin, he is once again, giving into the GOP base.

In choosing Palin, he is in bed, up to his neck, with the Dobsons, the Pat Robertsons, and all the rest of them.

Maverick my ass.

He's even more of a pawn of the Religious Right than Dubya, and I didn't think that was possible.

UPDATE: Think I'm kidding - McCain received SEVEN MILLION IN 24 HOURS AFTER THIS PICK.

WHOLLY OWNED SUBSIDIARY OF THE RELIGIOUS RIGHT

BINGO!

And that's what makes McSenile and "friends" even more Dangerous than Dubya!

A bunch of Evil and crazy-azz reich-wingers (meaning Talibangelicals, neoCons and military "war" profiteers) have now totally taken control of the Republican party.

This ain't Goldwater's_or even Reagan's_ "GOP" anymore.

I agree with "real" Conservatives who believe that we're possibly witnessing the death of Republican "conservatism"(?)

Which says to me, we may be witnessing the death of the Republican party, as a political party(?)

I liken the GOP to a cult driven by extreme reich-wing ideologies capable of doing even more damage to America, here at home and around the world.

Americans had better Wake-Up and come to their senses in a hurry before they put a madmad_literally a madman_in the White House!

BTW: I hope it's okay to mention that some of Andrew Sullivan's readers have posted some thought provoking comments:

Not only the Religious Right, the NRA, the oil men, the hawks, and this is the Republican pinup girl for blue collar White men, young Republican women and, of course, Hillary supporters.

John McCain receives an Olympic gold for this, he has reenergized himself as a maverick and a keen political strategist.

The Obama campaign has less than 70 days to navigate or should I say tip toe around this VP selection.

Every inspired Obama supporter needs to contact his campaign donate and work to make his presidency happen.

Hillary's refusal to get out of Obama's way, ger constantly whining to her base supporters and media that Obama is sexist and racist has caused a significant political blunder to the DNC.

Let's see what girlfriend who has a younger cuter girl in the political area and her use to be first black president is going to do to stop this trainwreck.

** Just another ugly, cynical selection **

Palin is as cynical a choice for VP as Clarence Thomas was for the Supreme Court. And for exactly the same reason.

Thomas would never grow into the shoes of Thurgood Marshall. He was chosen as an African American of the far right who would trample the hard won gains of the civil rights era.

Palin is a few feet shy of the stature to take over the presidency. She was chosen as a woman of the far right who would trample the hard won gains in women’s and children's rights.

Both of them are small human beings, intellectually and morally. Her xianity is a dishonest ersatz for foreign and public policy.

McCain's calculated cynicism at the same times betrays his lack of judgment and his essentially frivolous nature. He finally capitulated to the death impulse of the christo-fascists (dominionists) who now control his party. Those who look forward with glee to nuclear Armageddon in the middle east.

Now, the choice is stark. McPain and a continued assault on the Constitution by ignorant, arrogant "servants" of an imperial presidency. Or, Obama-Biden and a chance to undo the harm suffered by the Republic from the Bush-Cheney thugs.
