Roundup of This Weeks Events (Friday March 9th)

The public radio program On Point, offers great analysis of what has taken place over the past week.

Summary

It's been a tough week for the president. Former White House power Scooter Libby is now a convicted felon. His Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez was threatened with early dismissal by Senate Republican Arlen Specter in the US attorney firing scandal. The Walter Reed fallout is still raining down. And his top generals in Iraq saying the "surge" is not enough, while Democrats craft a pullout plan.

But it could be worse. The markets have settled down for the moment. Katie Couric's producer is already out on his ear. And somewhere in New Jersey, somebody's forgetting to claim their portion of a $390 million lottery jackpot. Shake your pockets!

Guests:
· Karen Tumulty, national political correspondent for Time magazine
· Linda Douglass, former political correspondent for ABC and CBS
· Jack Beatty, On Point news analyst, senior editor at the Atlantic Monthly magazine
