Yet another Bush Administration official has resigned. This time the resignation comes from a senior executive at the State Department.
Price Floyd was the director of media affairs at the Department. In this post, he was largely responsible for improving the U.S. image around the world. But the harder he worked, the more the White House seemed to undermine his mission. It became harder and harder to "sell America". Floyd realized that the Bush Administration did not seem to be interested in embracing real diplomatic efforts....and that it only wanted to create the appearance that it favored diplomacy. Floyd finally decided to quit over the past few weeks, after a 17 year career. But he has written an op-ed about the problems with U.S. diplomacy and what we need to do to reconnect with the World.
He briefly talks about his experiences at the State Department in an interview on the public radio program On The Media.
