Paul Wolfowitz On His Way Out At World Bank

Wolfowitz is finally being shown the door at the World Bank according to reports. The World Bank President violated ethics rules of the organization, according to a special panel that investigated his efforts to get a pay increase for his girlfriend. The former Deputy U.S. Defense Chief tried to take the culture of corruption that he was so accustomed to in the Bush administration, into the World Bank....and it just couldn't happen. There was bound to be a culture clash.

Wolfowitz is one of the main figures behind the war in Iraq, and one of the chief architects of the neo-Conservative philosophy that is the foundation of the Bush administration. He authored the infamous PNAC (Project for a New American Century) policy statement (year 2000) entitled "Rebuilding America's Defenses". (pdf) or see summary here. The PNAC is the Right Wing Conservative Think Tank that eventually morphed into the "Bush Administration". Many of the PNAC policy documents express an interest in using U.S. military power to control energy in the Middle East and beyond, and to maintain dominance throughout the World. The PNAC documents also support the idea of the U.S. being the Worlds Police Force, projecting military power all over the world, butting into hot spots where the U.S. does not belong. In essence, it describes maintaining an empire.

Some of his demands regarding his resignation from the World Bank are amazing.... particularly the demand that the Bank Board must paint him in a positive light as they show him the exit. He says he does not want to leave under a cloud.... Give me a break!!! If there is any cloud, it was created by him. These Bush cronies never want to take responsibility for their own garbage.
