Kansas Lacking Equipment Due to Iraq

According the Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius, her States National Guard lacks equipment to respond to the aftermath of this weeks Tornado, due to the war in Iraq, where much of the equipment has been deployed. A huge F-5 monster Tornado wiped out most of the town of Greenburg. According to State officials, about 50% of the States National Guard trucks are gone, which has slowed recovery efforts.

The States National Guard chief, along with National Guard commanders around the country, have been complaining for years about the strain on their States National Guard, due to constant deployments to Iraq. The National Guard was already in need of equipment before the war in Iraq even began. The war just made the problem worse.

Meanwhile, White House Spokesman Tony Snow blamed the Governor for the fact that her States equipment is tied up in Iraq. Unbelievable!
