I give Barack an A- and McSenile and B (I'm tempted to give him a B-but I'm mindful that I've had a belly-full of him, his "pitbull" and the entire Rethuglican party so..) objective I'm NOT!
I can always use more "specifics" on addressing pressing issues, like the Economy! But the fact that Obama was able to hold his own against the "maverick" who's been in the Senate 26 years_and debate McSenile on his "turf", Foreign Policy, _and (IMO) win the debate_not by much_but WIN IT nonetheless...Not. Bad.
I tend to agree with AI's latest post that the debate was a solid tie -- but a tie at a point where Obama can't afford a tie but needed a solid, convincing knockout. I was watching with a couple of buddies of mine over a few beers and they are both left-leaning and both thought Obama gave a solid performance but definitely did not go for the jugular. And we were all in agreement he had an excellent opportunity to go for the kill with all the events happening this week, McCain's record in deregulation, the state of the economy, etc. but did not.
"The two parties have combined against us to nullify our power by a ‘gentleman's agreement' of non-recognition, no matter how we vote ... May God write us down as asses if ever again we are found putting our trust in either the Republican or the Democratic Parties." -- W.E.B. DuBois (1922)

I'll try to keep this short:

Let's put it this way: the McCain camp is so nervous after getting owned in this debate that they had to dig deep for an 'after the fact' comeback:
