Happy Mardi Gras?????? WHAT THE ****?

"Happy Mardi Gras" in front of a National audience? This man didn't even understand who his audience was tonight. Hell...that's pretty fundamental don't you think?

Perhaps he thought he was giving a Governors speech to the citizens of his State. Was he THAT confused?

BRUTAL, AI.

I mean BRUTAL.

Shake your head in disbelief kind of BRUTAL.

Just telling the truth Rikyrah...

This is breathtaking.... I don't think I have ever seen this level of tone deafness before.

I mean... Palin comes close.

And didn't it look like he needed to go to the bathroom...and that he was so uncomfortable that he couldn't wait to get the speech over with?

I know you all saw that too... lol

If I were failing that miserably... I guess I would try to hurry up too.

Must be Hell trying to follow a speech by President .... PRESIDENT Barack Obama. LOL

the thing is...it was like he hadn't even read Obama's speech. I'm with Rude Pundit...what speech was he talking about. It was like he was in a room full of cats and stepping on tails everywhere he turned..LOL

From the Washington Independent:

Fox News vs. Jindal
By David Weigel 2/24/09 10:52 PM
From Fox News’ all-star panel after Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal wrapped up:

BRIT HUME: It read better than it sounded… this was not Bobby Jindal’s greatest rhetorical moment.

NINA EASTON: The delivery was not terrific.

CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: Jindal didn’t have a chance.

JUAN WILLIAMS: Childish.

Another Poll Shows High Marks For Obama Speech
By Eric Kleefeld - February 24, 2009, 11:15PM
Another national poll is out testing the reaction to Obama's speech, with CNN showing that speech-watchers came away feeling optimistic and reassured.

The numbers: 68% of viewers said they had a positive reaction, compared to 24% negative. And an astonishing 85% said the speech made them feel more optimistic about the direction the country is headed in (though granted, feeling more optimistic than before might be a low bar), and only 11% said it made them more negative.

And 82% of speech-watchers say they support Obama's economic plans as outlined in the speech, with only 17% against.

Aside from being terrible stylistically JIndal's speech had a patronizing, condescending quality to it. I got the impression that he was "dumbing it down" for regular folks whereas Obama treated the audience like adults and laid out the situation straight with no chaser. Message to Bobby Jindal (and the GOP) -- we're not stupid. You're a Rhodes scholar for pete's sake. You sounded like some patronizing jerk last night instead of a Rhodes scholar. Next time you speak throw away the Republican talking points and throw away the assumption that regular people won't be able to keep up and understand. We're all adults here. Treat us like adults and we might even respect you even if we disagreed with you.

LAD:
"I got the impression that he was "dumbing it down" for regular folks"...

And actually, I got the impression that he was really "dumbing it down" for HIS people, meaning the Republican "base" which makes up a clear majority of that party now.

Po fella. Despite his Rhodes Scholar achievement that fool threw it all away when he hitched himself to that Contaminated party and caught DUMB-AZZ-ITIS.

My. My. My. How far the GOP has fallen...smh!

LAD:
"Obama treated the audience like adults and laid out the situation straight with no chaser."

And that's why HE'S THA MAN_lol.

The last few months have been enigmatic for the GOP. From having a Rhodes Scholar like Jindal to a nitwit like Sarah Palin, they are being exposed as a party who has no idea what they are doing. Feasting on red meat while deferring the intelligence to the other side is starting to become a staple of the GOP platform.

I'm certainly not implying that Democrats are any smarter. But, damn.

Democrats certainly are guilty of doing some "dumb" sh*t at times.

But on the whole, I believe that Democrats ARE smarter! H*ll I believe that "Independents" _and to a degree even Libertarians are smarter. They sounded the alarm against the neoCONS long before anyone else_and they opposed the illegal invasion of Iraq from jump.

But back to the Dems:

For starters, Dems don't HATE government and they do know how to govern effectively WHEN they put country ahead of self-interest. Dems understand that government plays a VITAL role in the lives of ALL Americans. But any party needs a "real" leader. No need to tick off the qualities of a "real" leader. MOA is a site for "smart" people_lol.

Anyway: For the Dems, Obama came along JUST. IN. TIME.

BTW: Here's an excerpt on Jindal's less than stellar performance last night:

Feb. 25, 2009:

“You know, I think Bobby Jindal is a very promising politician," said New York Times columnist David Brooks, appearing on PBS, "and I oppose the stimulus because I thought it was poorly drafted.

But to come up at this moment in history with a stale "government is the problem," "we can't trust the federal government" -- it's just a disaster for the Republican Party. The country is in a panic right now. They may not like the way the Democrats have passed the stimulus bill, but that idea ... that government is going to have no role, the federal government has no role in this ... it's just a form of nihilism. It's just not where the country is, it's not where the future of the country is."

http://www.huffingtonpost.com

So_it's now been confirmed: The GOP has devolved to the point where people like Palin, Jindal and Cantor are considered “rising stars” within its hierarchy.

It appears to be Devoid of any real talent and vision, the GOP is NOT simply Out Of Step with where the majority of Americans are today. But it’s Out-Of-Step with where the majority of Americans had progressed to by the END of the CIVIL WAR!

Blame it on the “Southern Strategy”. Blame it on a stunted intellectual functioning “mentality”. They've got BIG BIG problems!

I've never been a Republican. But I know that the GOP is no longer the party of Lincoln_or even Goldwater for that matter.

I've NO doubt that both men would be highly Ashamed and Embarrassed at what the Republican party has become!

Alan Keyes and Sarah Palin doing Who's On First would have been better than this.
