George Allen’s Confederate Friends

The Sons of Confederate Veterans who George Allen has supported in the past, no longer supports George Allen. They say it is because Allen no longer supports the Confederate flag. They also say George Allen is dis-associating for political reasons, including his current political problems, in order that he can get re-elected and to go on to become the President of the United States.

African American political Pundit says: I wonder if the Confederate Group is no longer supporting George Allen because he is Jewish and segregationist organizations have felt for a long time, that being Jewish is just a bad as being black?

I guess that is why George Allen refused to acknowledge Jewish roots.

Check out what his former confederate buddies have to say now about George Allen:

The Washington Post reports, “Over the years, Allen has been a darling of the confederate group. As governor, he designated April as Confederate History Month. He has displayed the battle flag in his home as part of what he said is a flag collection. And his high school yearbook picture shows him wearing a Confederate flag pin. But the senator has been distancing himself from those symbols as he pursues reelection and considers a bid for the presidency in 2008″.

Let's hope George Allen is not a Mirror of Virginia.

Good post...

And your last comment is actually closer to the reality.... I'm afraid Allen IS a mirror of Virginia... which means all of these controversies may not hurt him. He IS STILL leading in the polls against the Democrat opponent Webb.

This shows how much of a Red State Virginia is... Apparently they are o.k. with electing a racist to represent their State in Washington DC.

Virginia basically has the demographics of the deep South... Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, etc.... Where many of the white voters are actually sympathetic to people like George Allen. It's David Duke all over again... except this time, the racist will actually win the election. Duke didn't lose by much when he ran in the deep South. How far has America come????

It makes me sick to my stomach.

Hopefully Republicans will lose the Senate, despite what happens in racist Virginia.

And that copy of that letter.... that says it all... It reinforces my point... Virginia apparently has not come very far since then. They are still living in the 1950's.

Let's hope the people of Virginia see through Allen's madness. They were progressive enough to vote Doug Wilder in as Gov. Let's hope they can be as progressive now.
