Weatherizing Works

A good idea from the government. Instead of shelling out more cash each and every winter helping the poor pay their energy bills, the government is now "weatherizing" homes. A few hours of work can save the poor, the government and taxpayers thousands in the long run. President-elect Obama hopes to increase the number of weatherized homes from 140,000 to more than 1 million.

This is an example of new liberalism. Smart government aid that still helps the poor, but in a more efficient and energy-conscious manner. This type of thinking might even spur confidence in the government.

Analysis
My wife and I recently "weatherized" our home. Two cold winters and outrageously high heating bils finally convinced us to shell out a few bucks on weather stripping and caulking and the difference has been dramatic.

I just wanted to stop by here and say "Happy New Year!!"
