This is not a campaign... it's a movement. I don't know why it took me so long to see it... usually i'm fairly visionary.
Obama has now reached the point of no return. In other words... He has practically guaranteed himself a place on the ticket...as either #1 or #2, no matter what happens from here on out.
There is no way that Clinton would be able (if she is coronated) to move forward without Obama on the ticket.
This is an interesting point...She can't survive politically without him...But he can make it without her. She's in a Hell of a spot.
The Democratic Party is in a Hell of a spot for that matter...
We are facing the possibility that neither candidate will be able to get the 2025 delegates needed or a solid majority on their own (not including Super Delegates).
Clinton is already planning to have Obama "stand down" after Ohio and Texas... They are predicting big wins for Billary there...as well as a good showing in Pennsylvania. But she is arrogant to think that she can all of a sudden push him aside after the kind of beating he has been giving her.
I have been saying for months that Obama and Clinton were going to be a trainwreck, one way or another.... but I didn't expect the kind of collision that may be coming.
This is going to be interesting...far beyond anything I imagined.
Wow. The Obama campaign is a juggernaut. The Potomac Primaries are in my backyard and the support for Obama is overwhelming and can't be ignored. There is a definite hunger in US culture for the kind of post-partisan politics that Obama represents and I am happy to see the voters make their impact known in hard numbers that cannot be dismissed so easily.
AI and LAD,
I was listening to Black talk radio today, and crazy -ass Dick Gregory was on, and he said something that I had never thought of: he said that people were wrong, comparing Obama to JFK/RFK. He said that the people in this country are smart, and they know America is in trouble. He said the voice that they hear isn't JFK/RFK, it's FDR. He didn't know if Obama could live up to that, but that's how he saw it. I thought it was an interesting take on things.
Old Dick Gregory.... He's a native son of St. Louis. He is a little loopy sometimes...but I am glad to see that he is still on the watch, although I often don't agree with him.
His comparison is plausible. But then again... any of the great Presidents... JFK, FDR, etc look exceptional compared to what we have had the last 8 years.
Have you all heard about Julian Bond's antics tonight? Unreal!!!
I guess I will have to post on that... (but i'm tired of blogging). Julian is getting close to making my sidebar.... Civil Rights figures (even those that I don't like) are usually off limits on the sidebar...because of the sacrifices that they have made. But the recent antics of Andrew Young, Julian Bond, Jesse "Barack isn't Black Enough" Jackson, and to some extent... John Lewis...and even the CBC... these folks have been going wild. I am losing more & more respect for them everyday.
They are scared to death that Obama will cut off the flow of corrupt lobbyist money....so scared that they are willing to sell their souls (what little they have left).
AI,
Yeah, it's time to call out Julian Bond. This is Uncle Tom behavior, AI. Straight up, no chaser.
Heck yea Obama is sweeping!!!
Fast on his way to the White House.
Editors, you may want to post this new video on your blog. Created by 2 supporters, it is in the same vein as the Will.I.Am video featuring A-list celebrities...
but way, way cooler.
