The Right Distorts Michelle Obama Quote

The Right has been going overboard misquoting and only half quoting what Michelle Obama said in a speech in Wisconsin.

Now, hmmm.....I wonder why I don't see the ENTIRE quote in the Right Wing, as they try and smear Michelle Obama, and they only took this snippet: for the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country.

For those of you who are confused, here is the quote, IN ITS ENTIRETY:

Here is Michelle's entire quote:

"What we have learned over this year is that hope is making a comeback. It is making a comeback. And let me tell you something -- for the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country. And not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change. And I have been desperate to see our country moving in that direction and just not feeling so alone in my frustration and disappointment. I've seen people who are hungry to be unified around some basic common issues, and it's made me proud."

There was no distortion in Michelle Obama's words, she said what was EXACTLY on her mind. She stated that, "For the first time" she was PROUD of her country. And you know what ... MAYBE SHE WAS. No one can dictate how and when or even HOW MUCH pride a person can have living in the United States. She is a Black woman with a history that might be tragic or unforgiving, or fill with individual happy moments with no NATIONAL PRIDE? It can happen and for many People of Color and the poor, it is a reality. That was and is her experience to decide but like all things Media and Pundit, it has to be analyzed.

On the other hand John McCain's wife (in her SHADY BEHIND THE SCENES WAY) tried to make light of Michelle Obama's statement by saying, "I don't know about you, BUT I have always been PROUD to be an American".

WELL Mrs. McCain, You come from a place of Privilege. If you line up her family tree, I an quite sure the roots she lived sucked deep from the BLOOD of the Poor and even deeper from the practices of capitalism, segregation, discrimination and slavery. I guess you do have PRIDEFUL MOMENTS.

MICHELLE said what was on her mind they way she wanted to say it and how she wanted to say it. THERE NEEDS TO BE NO BREAKING DOWN OF THE WORDS. SHE IS PROUND FOR THE FIRST TIME DAMN IT !!!!

Rikyrah - detail where the "distortion" is?
I've seen people who are hungry to be unified around some basic common issues, and it's made me proud
Please recall that right after the 9/11 attacks there was an attempt to "Unify" America by "wrapping everyone within the flag". At this time, Rikyrah various people, for example Al Sharpton REFUSED to allow their "patriotic sympathies" to have them turn a blind eye to the agenda that the Administration was attempting to put forth while the country was emotional.

For me Rikyrah - I am so inclined to do the same WHEN OBAMA COMES AFTER MY WALLET with tax increases and attempt to hand over the money collected for his particular increases in entitlements. Am I being similarly "unpatriotic" in listing to this man's plan which is currently at $865 billion in new spending and look the other way because it represent CHANGE? It will no doubt be said that I am an "opponent of change" in the same way that those who criticized the "Flag wrappers" of the past for calling those who refused to go along 6 years ago as manipulating patriotism for their own purposes.

Indeed Michele Obama's "pride" is RELATIVE to that which SHE believes as an appropriate set of policy initiatives for America. I would hope that she and someone of you could make reference to Mr. Obama's RESUME OF "CHANGE" in the past before I buy into good sounding stump speeches.

In the past critical issues were responded to with the word "PRESENT" as his vote. Now he wants to be "President". A president can't run nor try to not to disappoint his base when tough issues come to the head.

I must take special note at this rare moment in time on the Mirror On America board!!

For the first time ever there is a:

Extreme Left Commentator/Smear merchant - Olbermann as the "good guy"

A DEMOCRATIC Operative As the Bad Guy - Harold Ickes

And an Extreme Left Wing Democratic Black Operative in the - "Why I Hate" section.

THIS IS A FIRST on this illustrious blog!!
Oh never mind - We are within the "Black General Election" time where the Democratic party primaries are going on. Sides are being chosen now but unity with these 'enemies' will be had when America votes in November in what is known as the the "National General Elections".
