Daily Kos Blogger Nails Home The Point About the Lack of Progressive Media & Importance of Effective Strategy and Messaging

I have been trying to make this point for years. Those who have been reading this blog long enough have read my thoughts about the need for a Progressive media infrastructure and message machine to help Progressives control their own message. Without such an effort (combined with smart political strategy) Progressives really aren't on a level playing field with the opposition, and it becomes difficult, if not impossible, to defend against the propaganda from Conservative media and its spinsters. This blogger does a pretty good job of highlighting the point even more in his response to the faltering efforts implosion ref. Healthcare Reform.

When will Progressives figure this out?

No liberal will not figure it out nor will most AA'spolitically. The right has figured out it is a 24/7/365 job to make things happen they're way. Liberal's and AA's want to just live and let live politically. Then are angry when they have to fight.

The Daily Kos post was so right-on it was frightening. Frightening to behold how far behind Progressives are in terms of catching up with the Conservatives on a building a media and PR infrastructure.

And yes, on organization. Organizing a political entity to represent working peoples' interests (because the Democratic Party, save for a few individual Senators and Congress people) seems to be totally uninterested in representing our interests -- should be on top of the to do list. This is the point that political scientist Adolph Reed has been hammering for years -- that we need a political entity that functions outside of the Democratic Party that will represent our interests.
