12 Year Old Boy Sends Republicans Into Frenzy

More Neo-Conservative Nuttery

White House Endorses Website Threatening 12 year old Childs Family.

Over the past week, the White House has been on the attack, trying to prevent Bush's SCHIP veto from being overturned in the House of Representatives. But the target of their fury, 12 year old Graeme Frost, shows how desperate the Right Wing has become. With things not going so well in Iraq, a lame duck figure head President in office, and with few political victories (or any significant legacy) to speak of at the end of a failed Presidency, they need something to talk about and need someone to stand in as a target for their attacks. If not Frost, then who?

Instead of offering good arguments on the merits of why SCHIP needed to be vetoed, they have chosen to attack Graeme Frost, a youngster who benefited from the funding. The Republicans are attacking the messenger, since they have few good arguments for not extending the SCHIP program, particularly during a time when hundreds of billions of dollars have been wasted in Iraq.

Bush & Co., and their Republican machine are also attacking the messenger because they know that they are on the wrong side of history once again. Survey after survey has shown strong public support for both the renewal, and for the expansion of the SCHIP funding. Most State Governors (Republican and Democrat) also support the new SCHIP funding, which would be paid for by a limited Tobacco tax; unlike the Iraq War....which is not paid for. The Iraq war = debt spending, while SCHIP is covered. Yet, the Republicans are concerned all of a sudden with the concept of watching every penny when it comes to healthcare for Americas children.
There is something seriously wrong about this country's priorities.

I also find it interesting that the White House is claiming that Democrats used the boy as a prop, even though he was a recipient of the funding and is a legitimate voice for children who may need healthcare through the program (just like Susie Flynn with her campaign). The Bush administration is making a bold claim, particularly when it is known for using props of all kinds to support its policies....whether it is using an Aircraft Carrier as a prop (and wasting fuel on sorties), using American soldiers as backdrops for pro-war speeches, or using 911 victims and their families as tokens. The entire legacy of the Bush administration has been more about stage props than actual substance. Yet they are criticizing the Democrats who actually used an American who has something to do (legitimately) with the policy that they are supporting?

Now the White House has officially endorsed a website that has been involved with the smear campaign against the Frost family. The website RedState, even contains threats against the childs family.

Saw this on Keith Olbermann.

We already knew they had no scruples; it's sad that it takes hatred towards a 12 year old to just reinforce the obvious about this group.

The Neo-Conservatives are always preaching their culture of "Pro-Life", yet they always seem to be against any life affirming and life sustaining legislation. Whether it's meals for school children, healthcare, SCHIP, you name it.

But when it comes to building more bombs, passing pro-war legislation, pro-oil company legislation that chokes the environment, allowing the FDA and drug companies to collude...and even allowing drug companies to write the legislation on safety and approval processes, or legislation to help their friends in the Tobacco industry (anti-life measures and concepts)- then they can't sign on fast enough... and there is little concern with oversight or counting every penny then.

But when it comes to childrens health... we must be very careful about every red cent (even though the programs funding would be covered within the legislation).

Even their own moderate Republican Conservative colleagues are against them (the neo-cons) on this one.

It was a Republican who Co-sponsored the original SCHIP legislation. It just shows you how far right (and out of the mainstream) the Neo-cons have drifted. They are in their own world... where they create their own reality.

I love how liberals always try to get someone to speak who is above reproach. Only leftists would put their child out on stage wanting America to consider their financial circumstances, and then act outraged when some seriously do just that (facts = "attacks").

I guess we can add this dupe to the list of people who can't be questioned: Cindy Sheehan, Michael J Fox, 9/11 widows (only one's that hate Bush), Mrs Edwards, etc.

Am I missing something? People who qualified previously will qualify today and in the future without expanding to upper middle income families.

The President is not abolishing the program put in place for poor children - he is simply not expanding it to cover Monica Lewinski (age 24 intern).

Indeed only a social collectivist would want people who already have insurance to defect to government care.

Are you surprised that those maniacs would attack a 12 year old? I'm not. These are the same people that claim to be Christians, yet have no problem with a false war (Thou shall not kill. But I tell you not to resist an evildoer. On the contrary, whoever slaps you on the right cheek, turn the other to him as well.) Absolutely love wealth (For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows). But get them started on gay marriage, that’s worse than destroying a village of 10,000 children. I could go on forever. They try to rewrite the bible for their own perverted, egotistical outlook on life. I can say with 100% honesty that there is not a more hypocritical, self serving organization in the world than the republicans. Don’t even get me started on patriotism. These are the same people that believe the best use for the Constitution is toilet paper. They love big words, like socialism and free-market economy. 8 years have done more than 100 years worth of damage to the country they claim to love. Bull***t, the only thing they love are themselves. And no, there is no such thing as the liberal left media, or whatever corny name the whiny, screechy republicans can come up with. It is called "The Truth". The truth hurts, doesn’t it?
