I haven’t really commented on the NYTimes publishing the Op-Ed, because to be honest, I was just absorbing it.
Since January 20, 2009, I thought that I had seen all the ways that this President could be disrespected, but time after time, I have been proven wrong.
If anyone would tell me that any major newspaper, would publish an Op-Ed from the former head of the KBG who goes around the world murdering his opponents in plain sight, and allow him to lecture the United States, ABOUT ANYTHING, I just would have never believed it.
White folks are something.
They have lost their fucking minds.
Since the moment Barack Obama was elected President, they have lost their fucking minds.
They can’t stand it – neither the left or the right.
That this smart as hell, brilliant man and politician is President of the United States.

The Idiocy of American News Media
I find myself agreeing with this point (almost reluctantly) about the fiasco surrounding the BP Chairman's comments & how American media too often diverts attention to the wrong issues, wasting precious time that could be spent educating/informing the public on much more important facts and events. Just to be clear though, I basically hate BP & companies like it and am not a fan of the practices of greedy corporations. (anyone who has read this blog for more than 6 months should know how I view corporations). So i'm not defending them one bit.
But this comes at a time when the mainstream news media (more & more a venue for info-tainment) already spends too much time on nonsensical non-news stories on the level of cats stuck in trees. (this is national news i'm referring to..even in times of crisis/turmoil). I have contacted news agencies on a few occasions over the years to get them to cover real news... only to be told that they weren't interested. This is one reason why I lost respect for mainstream news (or for what imitates news & journalism these days) and decided to start blogging.
This is why Americans are clueless about oil spills in Nigeria, war & genocide in Sudan and Congo (several orders of magnitude worse than in Kosovo...for which Bill Clinton was willing to start WWIII), the ongoing Cold War in Central Asia and the Caucusus, life for troops in Iraq & Afghanistan, modern day slavery, the American health care system and American Democracy as compared to other nations, the time leading up to the financial crisis and how Bernie Madoff Made-off w/ so much money, Americas upcoming day of reckoning regarding its ballooning debt (what could be coming will make 2008-09 appear minor), the shady oil & mining industries, the lack of labor protections/labor regulations to protect workers, etc, etc.
As far as the news business is concerned, I wish we could go back to the days of Ed Bradley, Walter Cronkite & Bernard Shaw. Unfortunately, a lot of the really good journalists who are still left have had to go online and/or independent, and can't reach a wide audience. It just seems that with theFox News Faux News model leading the way, we are stuck in a race to the bottom in terms of news coverage... and we have a less informed/educated populace as a consequence.

Three great stories on recent political events
The public radio program On The Media looks at the stories behind the stories from the past week.
Three interesting stories:
1. How Cable News drowned out last weeks historic events
2. The overlooking of those who came before.... (I noticed this too). On The Media talks with Melissa Harris Lacewell.
3. The healthcare debate is louder and more important this time around.

The Latest 'Moving the Bar' for Obama
Well, covering for Senator Straight Talk at every turn on his gaffe's and missteps, hasn't exactly helped him in the polling. Helping push the 'Obama is an Uppity N$*%er' memo hasn't done it either.
I wear the tinfoil hat, and am not ashamed of it. The MSM has been covering for McCain at every turn, and has tried to find every fault they could with Barack Obama. Because, as others have said, and I agree, it's in their best interest to make this a horserace, and whatever they have to do in order to get it is what they'll do.
So, after spending the last month covering for McCain and hounding Obama, they wanted the results to fit the narrative they've been trying to shape.
But, when the latest polls come out, and Obama is still in the same position that he was in a month ago - IN THE LEAD - well, that just won't do.
So, of course, they have to ' move the bar'.
Anyone Black understands what 'move the bar' means.
It's not just that Obama is leading. And, that his lead has held. The latest scam is:
WHY DOESN'T OBAMA LEAD MORE?
Watched this entire farce on MSNBC yesterday, but it's not just MSNBC. This is the companion Meme of the MSM against Obama these days.
Now, isn't that special. He just can't be consistently leading in the polls. He has to be leading by a certain MARGIN in order to be legitimate.
When it came out that Obama was leading McCain by 10 points amongst, 'hard working Americans, White Americans', they could barely spit it out, not knowing how they could spin that against Obama, so, of course, they got OFF that poll point as fast as they could.
It's not that I'm surprised by this. I'm not. After all, the media full and wholeheartedly participated in the farce that was the ' supposed Democratic race', post-Wisconsin. Always going along with whatever BS moving of the bar Camp Hillpatine came up with, and acting as if it was legitimate.
Just pointing out some more of the forest.

Giuliani Lies About Obama's Foreign Experience
And The Mainstream Media Lets Him Get Away With It
Rudy Giuliani claimed (while at a Yankees game a week ago with McBush) that Obama was making his "first" World trip. I saw the report from ABC late news....and my jaw hit the floor.... No challenge or correction from the MSM whatsoever. He was allowed to get away clean with that bold-faced lie. See quote.
Of course Rudy was lying his *** off. This ignores Obama's work (and travels) as a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Senate Homeland Security Committee, as a co-sponsor of the WMD Proliferation and Threat Reduction Initiative which took him to Russia and to the Former Soviet Republics (see the Lugar-Obama Act), his trips to Kenya (both as a private citizen and as a Senator), and not to mention his time growing up overseas- in Indonesia... the Worlds largest Muslim nation by population. Obama also studied international politics in College.
The implication from 9/11 hero imposter Giuliani was that since Obama was not a prisoner of war like McCain, he is clueless about the World. But the fact is, Obama has a better understanding of the World than most American politicians.... something that he does not get enough credit for. This may be because such experience is not appreciated amongst most of the American electorate, who tend to have a more nationalist bent.
As a young man who spent several years growing up overseas, I can tell you that it gives you a different perspective on the World and makes you more aware of what is going on and more attentive to changing events.
