Obama Firmly in the Pocket of Israeli Lobbyists?

Skeptical Brotha takes a look at Israels powerful Lobby organization AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee), and its relationship with Barack Obama.

This is the kind of thing that turns me off about Obama and all the other candidates. In who's interest are they working? In the best interest of the U.S. or the best interest of Israel? Perhaps the U.S. Capital should be moved from Washington DC to Jerusalem. Because much of America's foreign policy (especially Mid-East policy) is written in Israel.

Most U.S. Presidents, since the end of WWII, have been controlled to a large extent by Israel. It appears that Obama would be no different....nor would any of the other candidates. He has been trying to present himself as being "not a part of the Washington DC establishment", but his actions here say something completely different.

American politicians must pledge allegiance to Israel if they hope to get money from powerful groups or Corporations. In fact, I don't know of any candidate who has turned down money from these powerful AIPAC lobbyists.

It's ironic to me that many Americans, American politicians in particular, are still suffering from guilt connected to the genocide of the Jews. This is what drives much of their policy towards Israel. Yet, these same politicians say almost nothing about the genocide of Black Africans in Sudan..... They also stood by and did NOTHING about the recent genocides in Rwanda and Sierra Leone.

Why are the lives of Whites ALWAYS seen as more precious than the lives of Blacks? This is something that I see domestically, internationally..... in almost every context.

But this unconditional support for Israel has ruined the image of the U.S. around the world and runs contrary to the best interests of this country. American politicians have to decide sooner or later if they are going to work for Israel or for the United States. Because the interests of the two countries are diverging. Unfortunately, U.S. politicians have so far been willing to risk everything (literally) not only for the preservation of Israel, but in support of all of its policies. I am not aware of any other country that has such control over a larger ally.

In the case of the U.S.... Christianity seems to play a part in this problem. As I often say on this blog..... whenever religion is mixed with politics, irrational policies are often the result. Religion, particularly Conservative Christianity, often impedes rational thought. This seems to be the case with Christians and the whole biblical connection with Israel. And it is a problem seen equally with Republicans AND Democrats. There is absolutely no difference between the two Parties when it comes to Israel, and U.S. foreign policy in general. This is why I have never seen a U.S. politician who I would really be willing to vote for....because none have an independent foreign policy that is based on the best interests of the United States.

The U.S. has allowed religion to distort its policy towards Israel to the point where the U.S. is now working against its own best interests. All because they believe that in the end, God will swoop down in the second coming, and wipe away all the enemies of Israel and the U.S.. Therefore, (in the minds of U.S. politicians) there is no need for any sensible policies. The bible has become the guide for dealing with Israel.... And Israel....as the Holy Land, must be defended at ALL costs. The U.S. defends Israel with more passion than it does in defending its own soil....all because of the religious context. This is what makes the U.S. relationship with Israel so dangerous. Israel, as a so-called "ally", has become almost as dangerous to the well-being of the U.S., as an enemy has....perhaps even more so.
