General Petraeus Admits There is No Military Solution for Iraq

The Bush administration has taken a lot of blows over the past week or so. So many, that I didn't even attempt to keep up this week. I just had to sit back and enjoy watching the Bush ship as it continues to sink.

One of the latest blows to the Bush administration was the recent revelation by General David Petraeus- the new commander of all forces in Iraq, who stated that there is no military solution for the problems there. Now this was obvious to those of us who have been paying attention to the world, and had a clue about what was going on before 9/11, before the invasion of Iraq, and during the occupation. For people who understand the world, and who understand different cultures of people, and know that you can't impose Democracy.....it was already pretty much understood that there could be no military solution in Iraq. But this is not so clear to pro-war, neo-Conservative Country Bumpkins who know little about the World, and don't understand the military.

This goes against everything that the Bush administration has been saying and doing for the past 4 years there. Democrats (and some moderate Republicans) have been saying the same thing for the last few years now. But the Bush administration has brushed their suggestions aside. The Iraq study also said the same thing in their final report on Iraq. But once again, the Bush crew ignored the suggestions.

Now I wonder what the talk is in the White House after Petraeus's comments. Petraeus was picked to push the White House policies....but he has just shot all of their bull..... down.
