Tom Vilsack Enters Presidential Race as the First Democrat to Officially Declare Candidacy.
Story Here
Could Vilsack be the leader that the U.S. so desperately needs? I think it's possible.
So far, he is talking my language, especially when he talks about breaking our dependence on foreign energy. I'd like to see the U.S. become 100% energy independent in 10-15 years (or sooner). Sounds impossible, but if we had a President and a Congress that made it a top priority, it could get done.
This is one of the most important issues of our time and it is also part of a wider strategy for securing the country and putting us in a better position to deal with the Middle East.
A few months ago I posted a list of potential candidates from both parties. Vilsack was one of only a handful of candidates who got a good overview from me. See List Here.
A few names on the list have already dropped out.... Feingold (D) and Frist (R).
