Republican Plan To Deal With Gas Prices Fails

Yet another band-aid remedy from Republicans to deal with a major long term issue. And of course it failed.

The Republican offer to give out $100.00 to motorists was not only rejected... it ended up aggravating many Americans.

The $100.00 plan was too little too late. This situation with gas prices and oil dependency is a strategic problem that will require real fundamental changes in America. It will require real innovation (something that the U.S. used to lead the world in). This is like the major U.S. projects of 20, 30, 50 years ago. I don't know if the U.S. is up for the challenge this time.
There is certainly no will on the part of the politicians. The main reason is because the politicians are literally owned free and clear by the big oil companies. They work for the corporations, and not for the American people.
This is how we end up with legislation (or lack thereof) that goes against the best interests of the American people.

Moderate Voice has the analysis on this latest Republican fiasco.
