Yes... when I hear...Long time no comment Paradigm,

Yes... when I heard this report on the radio about a week ago... that they were going to tackle the education problem in urban schools (in part) with civil rights investigations... I couldn't believe it. As if this is the problem with the school systems.

Main problem remains centered around the parents, the culture, and the stigmatization of education by some in the so-called "black community". This has been the problem for the past two decades. All of a sudden Duncan is talking about 'we shall overcome'...and makes the announcement during the Selma rally.

Just a few days ago... Sharpton had to admit on Campbell Brown...that parents were key to the problem. (I couldn't find the video link).

These clowns should be supporting teachers...not firing them...or holding the threat over their heads. At a time when we should be encouraging talented people to become teachers... and encouraging the existing good teachers to come to troubled areas or to stay in troubled schools... Duncan/Obama policies actually chase these folks away from teaching. It discourages the most talented among us to avoid the profession. It chases the good teachers OUT of the troubled schools... so the end result ends up being the opposite. All they are going to do is keep the problem going. One of the big problems in St. Louis is...all the good teachers leave to go teach in the burbs.

Obama apparently supports this madness of mass firing of teachers.
But this isn't going to work to improve schools and student test scores. I just wonder how many students will fail and fall through the cracks over the next 2, 3, 4 years when the Obama Admin. finally realizes this approach won't fix the problem?Brian https://www.blogger.com/profile/07872444863142531165noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21083673.post-64392789958600508572010-03-16T13:42:49.502-07:002010-03-16T13:42:49.502-07:00Bring the noise AI! Long time no.
No bullshit ...Bring the noise AI! Long time no.

No bullshit right? If all the caucasians in the US stopped right now, dropped to their collective hands and knees, apologized for slavery and just as important for the years in reconstruction, made these schools cathedrals and made teachers all 6figure employees, we'd still have below average achieving students in the so called "black community". We are so in love w/ the "idea" of the oppression of white society that we can't even see the destruction we bring upon ourselves. And that if we STOPPED the destruction we bring upon ourselves we'd see that the very real, but very weak oppresion that does happen do to white supremacy would almost disappear if not easily defeated or rendered useless.

I don't think the professors of sociology that parade themselves up on every stage in every "forum" panel can deal with the phsyque of the african american these days. It goes too strongly towards what the right and the nation of islam has been saying for years. Nothing will change until we exchange the values of Biggie and Pac for the values of (to a large extent, but certainly not exclusively) Obama and West.

Truth? Cosby was right. In our quiet time away from the "black gate keepers" that keep us all in bondage by screams of 'traitor or sellout or white boy' when we dare even mutter the idea of self reliance in ANY form, we know he's right. Ask Michael Eric Dyson. I refuse to call this motherf***** pastor or any other s*** he wants to use. This fool was so blindsided by someone like Cosby, who doesn't pander to the poisonous hip hop culture, that he wrote a book about it. But he won't touch Farrakhan who said, and I quote: "racism is dying. But black people need to let it die a natural death...through black excellence." Farrakhauns a little to "black" for MED to write a book about huh?

And btw, f*** JZ and Beyonce in the white house tak'n flix. He can dig all the wells in africa he wants to but until he owns up to CONTRIBUTING to the DESTRUCTION, OPENLY and in his music, that he caused, he, to me is worse than a Tiger Woods who won't sneeze at a black golfer. At least he wants EDUCATION from black folk, not another "black golfer". He wants "black dr's and lawyers, congresspeople and presidents". Not another "baller" who got to where he was rapping about the oppresion he helped along by his violence and exploitation.

This is all a f'n joke.Paradigmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12413100892328181734noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21083673.post-37607371060050518532010-03-14T11:13:26.945-07:002010-03-14T11:13:26.945-07:00It's funny that all of this is happening in li...It's funny that all of this is happening in light of the recent mass teacher firings in Rhode Island. Performance isn't where people think it should be...so let's can the teachers. Nevermind the missing or apathetic parents. Nevermind the dumb, lazy, and unmotivated students. Nevermind the culture that breeds the student's poor performances. Let's go after the teachers.

If that's the case, maybe we should also fire the Ivy League professors who gave George W. Bush a degree.Andrehttp://unmitigatedword.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21083673.post-45097549796371113642010-03-13T13:26:06.775-08:002010-03-13T13:26:06.775-08:00didn't you see my post when Duncan was first a...didn't you see my post when Duncan was first appointed?

didn't I make my feelings about Duncan clear then?

let me spell it out - he's an unqualified CLOWN.

NOBODY BLACK

and I do mean NOBODY BLACK with his ' credentials' would be taken seriously for anything - let alone Secretary of Education.

and no, I don't believe the President looks good with this selection.

ps- how come you didn't call him on it when he clowned and said Katrina was the best thing that happened to the New Orleans school system?

I had too many expletives in the post I wanted to write, so I let it go.rikyrahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10982657053583534299noreply@blogger.com
